Forged pistons vs cast aluminum hypereutectic pistons

I WAS THINKING ABOUT THIS THE OTHER DAY..............ARE THERE ANY OTHER PISTONS THAT COULD BE USED FOR BOOST? COULD YOU GO WITH HYPEREUTECTIC PISTONS VS FORGED UNITS? IF YOU WON'T BE REVING THE ENGINE TO 8 GRAND AND RUNNING OVER 20LBS OF BOOST.WHY NOT?I WAS THINKING, IF STOCK CAST PISTONS AN HOLD UP TO 275HP..ON STOCK RODS. WHAT KIND OF POWER CAN THE HYPEREUTECTIC PISTONS CAN HOLD ON FORGED RODS?
FORGED PISTONS........$4-600
HYPEREUECTIC PISTONS- $150- 175
JUST THROWING SOME THOUGHT OUT THERE. HAVE YOU EVER TRIED THESE PISTONS TOM?
JUST FOOD FOR THOUGHT!
HOW ABOUT THE HYPEREUTECTIC PISTONS ON SVT RODS?..HMMMMMMMM
I'VE READ THAT THESE TYPE OF PISTONS TEND TO BE ABOUT 30% STRONGER THAN STOCK! TONS OF VARIABLES STILL COME INTO PLAY IN DETERMINING HOW MUCH POWER IT CAN HANDLE(BOOST)!

Forged pistons dont cost 600.00 , Hyp pistons are not worth the money , never have liked them , Pistons is one of the places you dont want to cut corners

This is not that you never liked them , Tom. This is just an idea for people who want low boost on a budget, but a little better than stock! I jus put the idea out there. I've seen turbo charged chevy's and fords use these type of pisons, without breaking the bank! I said forged pistons can be from $400-$600 . i have seen custom made pistons for the focus $589 for the set...just add tax!
You are the man in my eyes, but just trying to give it a thought for others!

Its a waste of time to use them anywhere , pistons dont cost 600 from a place not trying to screw people , you can get eagle rods and forged pistons with rings off ebay for less then 800

Going through the trouble to build an engine and trying to save 150 - 200.00 on installing low quality mid range pistons isnt a savings to me

It just does not save anything in the long run , I wont even build an engine with them V8 Forged pistons are to cheep these days

i do agree with you Tom. I would use forged all the way. I am just trying to see what some thoughts of it were. They must be somewhat ok............people are using them. i was reading about them..........it's not an argument of which is better! Hands down......we know it will always be forged! I believe if u r going to do it; do it right the first time!

Still wouldnt install a Piston that was only 30% stronger then stock when you could do one 200% stronger for little more money , Not counting all the other time and money it takes to change them
