Noob Questions. . .

Okay, sorry about the amount of questions that Im about to ask LOL HAHAHAHA

What type of sleeves are in the focus motors? I.E. rmf (like the h22's that you cant put after market pistons in) Are they solid deck?

What do the stock heads flow? And with proper porting what CAN they flow?

What type of compression do the different motors have?

What are the bores/strokes of the different motors?

Are the cranks interchangeble between the different motors? What about the crank bearings? (this is simply to know if the rods share the same thickness)

Is there any type of girdle on the mains? Better yet if someone has a link or some pics of the bottom of the block to see the mains post em up.

Again sorry for all the questions. And thanx ahead of time for dropping some info on me.

Far to much to sit down and dig up , Maybe some will chime in and answer along the way

The cranks are interchangable in the Zetec but not with the Dura engines all zetec engines have the same cranks from 1997 in the contour and ZX2 to 2004 in the SVT

The Dura engines the cranks are interchangeable between the 2.0 and 2.3 but then you run into rod issues because the height of the blocks are not the same so you have to make custom rods and pistons

No girdle on the Zetec but there is kind of one on the Dura engines

Only the Dura has sleeves

Zetec...Iron block
Duratec...Aluminum block
SVT Zetec 10.2:1 Compression
SVT head flows better than any "regular" Zetec head
Duratec heads flow better than Zetec, but have small valves
Top of the head stuff, people will probably fill in the blanks

My main question now is, whats the bore/stroke in the Dura's?

And with aftermarket sleeves how far can you punch it out?

Thanx for the input so far guys.

BUT if you do a racing port on a Duratec your going to have a higher CFM rating cause you ALREADY started out higher stock for stock...

Basically its like this...

if your Zetec head had a 1.5 inch port on it... and you ported it up +3 inches... that 4.5in port.

Now if you have a duratec with a stock port of 2.5 and you ported it up +3 as well, you have a 5.5in port...

The duratec started with more and it will end with more...

Now granted there are limitations to porting and the amount of material in the heads... but I think the duratec can be ported more.

Thanx everyone. Im pretty sure I can put the peices together from here.

I think I talked a friend into letting me build him a motor. We will see where his budget puts him now.

Has anyone ever ran a 94mm crank in the 2.0 block?
