tom what setting should i put the mafia on cause i am running 650cc injectors and 10lbs off the jrsc?? i pluged in the mafia and it makes the iat go to -40 so its not reading the sensor when the mafia is pluged in and it just dumps fuel but i read that we have to get the car ideling first then i put the mafia on but the car is ideling like shit do you have any suggestions?? we are using the sct tuning software and started with one of the files on the sct tuning software for a blowen focus and a costum fuel maping that one of the instructors at my school made up this is his first time tuning a svt focus he usually tunes imports and thats it he is actually a new instructor that worked at slowboys performance before he got hired... we will be puting the car on the dyno tomarrow and start to tweek things so i was wondering if you can give me any pointers on tuning it. thanks!!!!

You are probably going to want to run the MAFia on 3 or 4. I would start with 3. Be careful with the tuning, especially with someone who has never done a Ford or Focus for that matter. Watch your timing especially.

tom what setting should i put the mafia on cause i am running 650cc injectors and 10lbs off the jrsc??
**Get the SVT running correctly where everything idles good this needs to be done BEFORE you go on the dyno , what setting is used depends on how much MAF you are using , Most cases 2 or 3 will get the job done for 10psi depending on MAF housing size

i pluged in the mafia and it makes the iat go to -40 so its not reading the sensor when the mafia is pluged in
**Then you may have a bad MAFia , look at the MAFia prongs and make sure there pushed in place all the way

and it just dumps fuel but i read that we have to get the car ideling first then i put the mafia on but the car is ideling like shit do you have any suggestions??
**If you have the PRP then go to the MAF Transfer Functions and make the changes needed to get it to idle correctly, Watch your Short Turm Fuel Trims 1 and this will tell you what needs to be done either - fuel or + fuel

we are using the sct tuning software and started with one of the files on the sct tuning software for a blowen focus and a costum fuel maping that one of the instructors at my school made up this is his first time tuning a svt focus he usually tunes imports and thats it he is actually a new instructor that worked at slowboys performance before he got hired... we will be puting the car on the dyno tomarrow and start to tweek things so i was wondering if you can give me any pointers on tuning it. thanks!!!!
**Be very carefull i have seen good tuners have trouble tuning the SVT Focus and kill them on the dyno , A BIG mistake i see Dyno Tuners do is on the first Dyno run they will take it all the way to 6500 or 7000 then go to look over the data this is a MISTAKE to do by this time it is to late , On my Dyno i start the runs from 2000 to 4000 then when all that looks good and safe i go from 2000 to 5000 then 2000 to 6000 not only does this give you the chance to look and see what happening before any damage is done and to make safer changes but you not beating on it to 7000 every run

ok i got the car running and ideling a little better but i dont know what the mafia is for cause sct can retune the stock maf to work with the charger. cause we are running the car fine with the stock maf still what does the mafia do isnt it pointless since i can tune the stock maf?? also i used that zetech pulley and it produced 15lbs of boost!!! so i am definitly going to change the pulley to the bigger stock svt pulley intill i can find a pulley that gives me 10lbs of boost.. i also thru two codes- p1383 which is variale cam timing over retarted (bank 1) and the other one is p1233 fuel system disabled or offline would you know why these set??? thanks for all the help!!!

The mafia modifies the voltage comming from the MAF to basically widen the range in which it works. There will come a point where you will be flowing all the air the stock MAF can detect. Once you go past that point it wont matter how much air you are forcing into the motor the MAF wont report any more air past that point. That can lead to a lean condition when the computer doesn't realize you are forcing more air than the stock MAF can read.

I think the stock MAF is good up to 10PSI. I'm not sure past that how much air you can force though it and the stock unit still function.

MAX safe voltage is about 4.90 in my opinion anything more then that during a run needs a MAFia

The SCT software like the Diablo will change the MAF Transfer Functions but wont "retune the stock MAF" Nothing can change the where the MAF runs out only what is does between 0.100 and 5.000 Volts

o ok so i will try to make the mafia work and figure out what is going wrong with it. i thank you again tom for helping me out and answering all my questions i am planing in the near future to come to you to have my car tuned correctly, well make sure it is and make good power. where are you located?
ps if you find any where i can get a big boost pulley let me know thanks (just pulley since i have 61# injectors, belt, air box, and tune already so its pointless to spend $500 for the entire kit when i dont need everything in the kit)
