Not impressed either. I like the hatchback so much. That's what brought me to love the FoFo so much.

Leave it to Ford NA

to screw up a good product and waste money on keeping that old platform around when a perfectly good new platform already exists.

I just don`t get Ford lately. I have written them letters wondering why they won`t bring the focus over here from europe. They can`t even get a straight answer. I guess the Mazda 3 is the european platform from the focus from what I`ve heard, but I still won`t buy it. And they just launched a new two door focus hard top convertable over there. WTF! I think Ford is trying really hard to fail in the US.

This platform is shared by Mazda 3, Volvo S40 and MK2 Euro Focus. Same engines in all models and 220+BHP inline 5 Turbo in Focus ST and S40.
Also, Ford just won in WRC, manufacturers winner for the first time in 26 years with the MK2 Focus! Why does Ford US/Canada still use this 10 year old platform as good as it is, when something far better exists in other markets. Go figure. Maybe Alan Mulally, new CEO will change that!

Because they dont want anything over here to compete with the Mustang

It would look kind of foolish a Focus out running a Mustang , I know i have dont it many times and they dont like it much

yes but i just got back from england and there are plenty of mustangs to go around so i dont see why they wouldnt bring such a perfect car as the mk2 st here. i would get one, park right next to my 2.3(never getting rid of that gem).

ford dont worry to much about the focus because its the cheapest car and to keep it cheap they dont want to make the european model its just economy.
