Due to my school schedule, the gym literally across the sidewalk is only open for about 15 minutes after my last class; hardly worth it right?
The guys that designed the building thought it would be a great idea to make all the door frames flush so that eliminates my pull up bar.
Anyway what im trying to accomplish is to get back to my target weight since im about 30lbs off of that from not being able to work out, being stuck in class and that incredibly greasy school food. (i dont have extra money to go outside of the meal plan)
Anything you guys know of that i can do within the confines of a little 3x10 room? Theres a track right outside too that im gonna go running on soon as they clear the snow from it for once.
Btw sorry if this isnt as in depth... I had a nice thing written on my ipod and the damn thing died on me.
Assuming your dorm has multiple floors and you aren't on bottom start by taking the stairs and use the stairs to workout. Go all the way up jog to the other side of the top floor then all the way down and repeat until you are hurting.
Buy a set of dumbbells and check out these exercises and others like the iron cross. The kind of dumbbells you can add or remove weights from will be your best buy.
You also have pushups, situps, jumping jacks, flutter kicks
Invest in a pull-up bar that fits in the doorway. I got one from wal-mart for $20 and love it. Then run the stairs (or just go out for a run) and come up with a push-up, pull-up, and ab workout that you can do a couple times a week. If you can find the p90x ab workout its a killer workout.
honestly, since you just want to loose weight, just have like a cardio mat or some sort of cushion for your butt and back and do cardio and core exercises. Here is a list of exercises that i already have worked up:
UPPER BODY EXERCISES
- Single legged, wide, diamond, regular
8 count push ups
Overhead arm clap
LOWER BODY EXERCISES
Side Straddle Hop
Rower (Unassisted Situp with arms extended out above head)
V- Ups (arms horizontal with floor, lifting legs up)
dude, the P90X is ridiculous, i do it (im in a dorm as well) it works great see if you can get the videos off of a torrent site
great thanks guys. Ill definitely start doing that.
My intention was to start p90x after this anyway... My boss has all the disks and whatnot.
What I was wondering too is how do you follow the eating schedule with being in school? You have your own stuff or what?

Get a band set... Can get nice sets for CHEAP CHEAP on amazon.com.
As for eating... It'd be optimal to invest in the bare minimums... Multi-vitamins, maybe some whey protein if you can budget it (can go cheap and maybe spend like $30 a month)... Since i'm sure their food does not have much protein and is mostly carbs and fat, lol.
Creapure creatine mono is always nice as well... year supply is like $20.
hey i have something called "ALTUS DOOR GYM" new, its perfect for a dorm workout, you just hook it too your door and you can do sqats and every single thing you can think of. pm me if interested, it will help you out.
If you spend few $ a week on raw fruits and vegs and nuts at the local grocery you can supplement the crap a little bit in off hours. It might not be cool to eat almonds, carrots, and celery for a snack but you never hear anybody say dude I wish I wouldn't have eaten all those veggies I feel like crap now. If you have a hotpot you can make pasta, beans and rice, soups etc.. Lots of carbs aren't really bad if you are working out
I think that would definitely be worth it... Somehow they seem to mess up even the cold veggies. Lol. But i do have a mini fridge in my room.
my room is so small though. Its really more like 2 feet wide that i can walk in. One of those dedicated singles.
Maybe I did say it or not but yeah the school food is incredibly greasy its gross.
