Helo form Houston

Dont own a Svt but want to buy one soon. I don't have a massive background on cars but I have been cruzing Craigs-list for the past 30days and I seem to find that most Used Svts go for 4k-7k and have aprox 80k on the clock. I don't have to be a super genius to know the engine will be tired. A general rebuild will be my first stop but if the price is right I just might buy a newish engine all together. Does anyone know a good place in Houstonish to buy the Svt engine/trans (or not even Houston ). Does anyone know a reliable engine/trans Crate store on the internet? Any serious help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to get hosed. For a newbie like me just looking at a 2.0 Zetec E I don't think I would be able to tell that it was a SVT (maybe aside from the huge Getrag it was attached to). Thanks again

Brandon

If u browse the internet and do extensive research im sure you can find the engine and tranny. I havent really found a place in houston that sell any svt things not even junk yards around here have the cars, trust me i been looking. All you can do is reasearch and research. There are a few people in houston that are on here that drive svts so maybe they will chime in soon and help u out.

Yeah thats what I am hoping but anytime i do a search for new motors i get sent everywhere but where i want to be. On the rare occasion that i find an engine they are the the regular 2.0 and not the Svt option?

The SVT Engine is a rare engine to find really.

There are places where you can request for a new one.
There's CFM - http://focus.c-f-m.com/
There's focus-power - http://www.focus-power.com/view.php?showme=Home
There's Steeda - http://www.steedafocus.com/
There's FSWerks - http://fswerks.com/
There's Massive Speed - http://www.massivespeedsystem.com/

These are the guys that help us Focus people with parts and such.

focus-power is a member here who goes by 1TurboFocus aka Tom aka Turbo Tom.
FSWerks, I don't know if they still build Zetec Engines, because they have been all Duratec since the release of the Duratec. But I know the guys still work on em.
Massive and Steeda are mainly parts, but you can give em a call about a whole engine.

Good luck finding what you want. And Welcome to FocusFanatics.com.

^^Gee Raymond you could at lest tell him how many miles are on your SVT. 80k mi is nothing for an SVTF. I even heard of a member on here with a 200k mi SVTF can't remember who but I'm sure there is. If it's got compression and all the maintence has been done then you shouldn't have any problems with one that has 80k or more miles on it.

Oh and Raymond's aka TukaniSVT SVTF has over 140k+ miles on it and it runs strong has ever.

o btw, the fswerk.com link doesnt work for us ff members, cause they're bunch of haters.

and finding a new svt engine/tranny is hard to find. so browse the buy-sell-trade section for good deals. there's always someone selling svt engine parts or the whole engine themselves. but really the much more benefical route would be to get an svt. the higher you'll pay for one the better the mileage would be. have u tried finding svt's on craigslists from dallas, austin or in san antonio?

This got sent to Me a couple of days ago. If You have the option to tow, and the place to do some body work, You might have a winner here:
http://austin.craigslist.org/pts/1775615286.html

I'm still waiting on pics of the damage, so It could be a wash, but He claims it still has a clear title.
