Moving out to Phoenix, NEED help!!!

Hey everyone. Well I am moving out to Phoenix to attend college at Devry, which is Located on W. Dunlap Ave. My question is I dont want all my stuff to be stolen. HOW are u guys preventing Wheel theft? stereo? CAR? I have a clifford alarm, etc. and someother things. Biggest question is, that a good area? I am looking at an apartment right across the street on Dunlap, so if that is not a good area, point me in the direction of a good area, were I won't have to worry about stuff in my car being stolen. IT DOES stick out like a sore thumb being a show car, but lemm eknow what u thinkg. And what all i need to do . To keep those bastards away from my car. Im posting a few pics, as u can tell. Its not really Discrete.lol

Welcome (in advance) to Phoenix!

One thing in terms of protecting your investment...we are a state where you can carry a firearm.

Perhaps a few spent shells on the dash?

don't need to tell me that, Backroads will see it if u want an honest answer, but nothing on populated streets!!! Look at my car, not something i want to wreck or screw up, let alone myself. If it was a neon, that would be different!!! Cant wait to get to the firebird track, That is what its called right?

Congrats on the move and welcome to AZ. As far as Dunlap Ave, that area is ok. However you're better off either living in North Glendale or more South towards Tempe or Chandler. If you are there during the day for school then you should be all right.

I have and would definitely recommend getting wheel locks in addition to some kind of an anti-theft system with pager. Additionally, anything that is easily removeable such as an aftermarket antenna, you should take with you. A former co-worker of mine had his wheels stolen off his Accord in downtown Phoenix.

hey, well im not living in phoenix, but used to live there, and will move back when my term is done. anyway dunlap is the the worst area, but you could def be in a better area. tempe, chandler, mesa, scottsdale all good areas. the best part about phoenix, although the traffic is bad, almost every street will get you close to where you need to go. i used to live in goodyear, and man i never stayed there, hated that part of town. if you have another vehicle, take advantage of not driving the foci so much. anyway, good luck on the devry and hope the best for ya. check out the meets in scottdale, usually some good cars there.

Awesome, I will check out North Glendale. Is the price increase in housing a big jump from dunlap to up there in glendale?

Housing should be fairly affordable in North Glendale. Tempe, Chandler, and Scottsdale will be higher.

Here are some sites that you can use for reference:
http://www.rentnet.com/
http://www.apartmentfinder.com/
http://www.apartmentratings.com/

When we first moved here we used:
All Star Apartment Rentals
(480) 759-9173

Its a free service and they can assist you in finding an apartment based on what you want to pay for rent.
