JULIAN (SoCal) MTN. RUN - JOIN US!

the following is a post i've started over on FJ, so if you don't recognize the screennames and whatnot, there's a reason. come join us! we've done these before, and they're always a blast!

OK-

Based on the advice of a few at the last SD Fuddrucker's meet, I've decided to take the reigns on this thing and set a firm date. If you can't make this run, there will be more in the future so no worries!

When: 8/22 (Sunday) @ 7AM. we'll try to roll out NO LATER than 7:30, but please try to arrive early. i plan on being done no later than mid-afternoon at the very latest so that we don't completely tie up anyone's day.

Where: North County Fair parking lot. We'll park in front of Robinsons May so it's easy for all the other focii to see us when coming in the main entrance.

What to bring: 2-way radios, some spending $$$ for a stop in Julian for some pie (or maybe Dudley's bread), and enough gas for a good long cruise. bring a camera if you like, too, bc this will be a good time for some photos. grab some breakfast before you come, too.

Etc.: although we all enjoy some "spirited driving" as much as the next guy, this will mainly be a fun run event. we're out for a good relaxing cruise through some of the nicer parts of SD county, so leave your AE86 at home and make your tofu run some other time!

i'm not horribly familiar with the roads up there once we get off 67, so if anyone knows some good roads or has maps from previous runs, please let me know. push come to shove, i'll sit down with a map and plan something out. i seem to remember hearing about someone who had maps of roads that are real popular with the Porsche club bc they're fairly quiet roads. if we have that info floating around, that'd be great.

please post up if you're at all interested in going. so far, we have:

whiteboyslo (Me)
my brother (gotta get him on these boards sometime)
H8SUVs
TravEspi
moosewax
AT1
SlickShoes
KoRnPhReAk
SD_FocalPoint
DagoFocus
Jobul (maybe)
kaminari_croc (maybe)

From FocusFanatics.com:
shakemaster (maybe)
dudemanzx3 (maybe)
hec666 (maybe)

i'll update the list as we go along.

i'll be sure to bring this up at the next couple of Fuddrucker's meets. it should be a fun time!

Later,

Mike

i don't know. 15 usually isn't too bad going SB around 7:30 (that's when i leave my house. i'm in Rancho Bernardo). 5 may also be fairly convenient considering they just opened up 56 and you can scoot right across on there.

your buddies have foci, too, or no? no big deal. just curious.

Today I just did a run from Temecula through Palomar down to SD. I think we passed Julian? Saw it on one of the road signs. 4 SRT-4's a WRX and me in my ZX3. What kind of run are you guys doing?
