Racer's Paradise - New Road Course in SC

Hey everyone, looks like there's plans to bring a new racetrack to the carolinas. By racetrack, I mean road course, not left turn only stuff, or dragstrip...for the moment.

I was at our local SCCA meeting last night where the two guys behind the project gave us an iniside look into their plans. Let me just say, I was blown away by the scope of what they want to do, and the sheer amount of awsome this place has the potential to be. Now, this is all in the preliminary phase now, ground has yet to be broken on the site. But, I'll get the viral word out, and help support them to get positive feedback for their plans. Plan is to open sometime in 2012. Some details:

- 2, 2.5 mile road courses which can be combined to be 5.75 miles long
- Did I mention a 5.75 mile road course longest in NA, and built to FIA specs with the potential to host LeMans and F1 races
- Huge test pad, potential for a great autox site
- Membership plan, one of the courses will be designated for member use 300 days a year
- Nature park, top teir motox course, atv park
- Expansion to add a 1/4 mile dragstip and 1.5 mile test oval

i finished 12th in a field of 56 bone stock at what was quite literally a road coarse up in boone NC a few years ago. i think at the time my only mods were the 18x7.5s on good tires and a cherry bomb welded onto the stock exhaust. i might have had a CAI but i cant remember for sure. the focus does really well at these. if the world doesnt end in 2012 i foresee good times ahead
