Exhaust

I was thinking about getting a performance exhaust for my SVTF. Is there any kits that you guys would recommend? And also what would I do about installing it?

You plan on going FI in the future?

I'd recommend either Trubendz or MBRP. Installing it is pretty easy, basically removing the old and putting on the new.

exhaust

Exhaust is next on the list of things for me too. Should I look at a cat-back system first or just look for the entire thing? What is the performance/price difference? Haven't even thought about super/turbo charger in the future yet.....

I'd go with the whole thing from the flex pipe.

Mbrp?

Sorry.....what is MBRP? Is that a brand? I don't know allot about exhaust systems. I don't want anything that will make my car real loud or "canny" or whatever. I do want to boost performance and help give a little growl. I was wondering if I do a cat back system, is that cheaper than the whole system? Then, can I add the front part to it later with a cat on it? Please help, I really don't know where to start with the exhaust part.

How much money could I expect to pay for each, and performance increases would help too. THanks!

MBRP is a brand, they specialize in truck and snowmobile systems, idk how the focus got into the mix but it did, i have their system and its great, not too loud and gives a great sound.

A cat back system is a good place to start you dont need to buy a header and flex at the same time, but if you wanted to save some time just do it all in one shot. i believe the MBRP is up to around $300 and its all stainless steel and a good system for the price, there are a few that are cheaper and more that are more expensive, i love mine and thats what i would suggest, others will have other opinions on which is best of course.

as far as adding power, im not sure of the #'s but it will net a few ponies, but as you add to it with a header and flex, the #'s will of course increase as everything works together

If anyone is interested, I will sell my 2.25 Magnaflow for $300 off my SVT. This one has the resonator (Part#15743). Or you can have the one off my ZX3 w/o the resonator for $225 (Part#15682)

The one on the SVT is near new. Only about 2K miles on it. Was installed back in April. The one on the ZX3 has an easy 15K miles on it. Can not remember when it was installed. More than likely some time in 2006. If you choose the one off the ZX3, I will need your stock exhaust.

I'm gonna have to go 2.5 when I go FI anyway. PM me if interested.

On your SVTF, just a cat back exhaust will do almost nothing performance wise, you'd almost be beter off getting either an off road pipe, especially if you folks in prescott don't have to go for emmisions, or a high flow cat. Either will make your car loud and more agressive sounding without changing anything else, but you will see performance gains, whereas just a catback will just be noisy.
