Xcal Data flasher

Hi I'm in Bristol Va/Tn and my cars got some sort of a timing issue I can't track down, does any one in the area have an Xcal Data flasher I can use to check it out?

Thanks a lot in advance

Dustin

You can just stop by Autozone and have them run the codes if it is throwing any. Otherwise I don't believe an Xcal will do you any good. Unless your wanting to datalog it.

Are you talking ignition timing, or engine timing? Either way I'm not sure how much a datalog is going to tell you about that.

Ok so you replaced the timing belt and you're sure the crank was at tdc and the cam marks lined up?

If that's right, and your coil, wires and plugs are fairly new... I'd bet it isn't timing related.

My vote... Vacuum leak. I'd suggest checking all the vacuum lines to and from the intake manifold.

Already checked the vac lines and pressure tested everything, also the rpms durring idle are fine. If it was a vaccume issue then the idle would either be high or sporadic. I set and reset the timing and I used the tools so it doesn't allow for much wiggle room that I could tell

Its fords version of a data logger,The tech can plug it in and see real time info on timing, temp, oil pressure,a/f ratio, etc and make adjustments as needed. They are pretty cool and only ford techs have them.
