Driving Routes

Hey Guys Been thinking of something like this for a while and I guess regional is the best form to do this in.

I was hopeing on gathering a list of the best driving routes you have found arround the area. I am talking about a place you can go and just enjoy a good drive. Whether it be a nice calm country road or one that you can let loose and let your focus live in its natural Curvy Road Glory (or whatever ya call it),

...
Anyone care to start us Off I am still tryn to Googlemap my Favorite Route of I20 outside Douglassville

This is a seriously great idea for a thread, glad you opened it. I'm new to the area so I have been searching. I miss living in Washington as my "route" was out to the beaches, lots of twisties taking about a day to complete. I want to find something like that here in the S/E

Well, if you ever come around Monteagle be sure to take you car down on Hwy 41. Dont use the interstate route. 41 has endless sways, and a awesome horse-shoe curve that you can slide it on. LOL. Actually, there is a lot of good roads to play around on up here in Grundy, as long as you dont get lost in the woods. Stay on the paved roads, if it turns into gravel then it will turn into mud. The mud is also cool to drive your Focus in.

Mud? Man I have a hard enough time keeping traction on asphalt, lol. I'm going to google map that route 41 and see what it looks like. Monteagle is just around the bend from me.

You know I think it would be sooooo sweet if we could get the group together to do Deals Gap (dragon tail) sometime. I don't think it's too far from us TN types

Yeah, I got a friend that takes his CBR600 to the dragons tail and he says it is awesome. Grundy is fun, but mostly at night. Plus, I know my way around all the cop hang-outs so, that makes it even more fun. They dont say nothing to me there anyway. My brothers dad is the sheriff. But most of the roads wont show up on any maps. You have to live there to know what is there. As for the mud, use Falken Ziex tires like me, they are great for getting traction on any surface!!! Just dont tear you exhaust shield like I did.

I'll show you the best stretch of road I've ever driven in my life.
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...62799&t=h&z=11

OMG.

It's curve after curve, hill after hill, you pass right beside a massive dam at the bottom and it's all lit up at night. In addition to that the speed limit is 55 even though it's a glorified 2-lane county road (more like a "highway, wink wink"), and I will tell you, I was pretty uncomfortable doing that in quite a few sections because it was SO FAST for that road. Gotta try it again sometime.

Helen GA, serious curves. it's a mountain. S2000 clubs along with miata clubs have numerous rides up there. great scenery if you just want to enjoy a nice curvy drive and at a slow pace. or really want to hook up and push your focus to the limits. 180 U bends, inclines curves decline curves. staights. plenty of places to pull off and great areas for action shots.

I've been there before. just remember make sure you bring an extra quart of oil and some motions sickness meds. for those that are weak. people have thrown up out there.

Just remember saftey is key.
