rocker panel covers, mudguards for 02 zx5 ?

got my 10-yr old sweet zx5 and looking for functional body effects that will deflect dirt etc. from the ends of the rocker panels at the wheel wells. I see a couple options:
1. mudguards/flaps. all that I've seen have been pretty cheesy and involved pushing big screws into the edge of the wheel well, but I'll go with it if someone can recommend a quality kit
2. edge effects for the ends of the rocker panel, front and back. I may not know what I'm talking about, I think I've seen triangular buildups for the ends of the rocker panels at the wells that perform the same effect as a mudguard - keep road dirt from hitting the ends of the panel, knocking the paint off and creating rust
3. full-length rocker panel covers - from one wheel well to the other. if you know a nice kit that performs functionally, pls name it.

Looking for a couple things -
- I'm 48 so I put more stock in function than styling. Rubber flaps that call themselves mudguards I would rather avoid, but otherwise, it's all-stock so something subdued that works will do better for me
- ideally something that a dealer body shop would be willing to apply would be good. I'm not skilled enough to do this myself and don't have time to learn. Someone else is going to do this, so relatively standard installation methods would be best.

There it is - your help appreciated!

oh yeah - painting. it's silver. If they need painting that's fine. If not, even better. I can live with black or some other "neutral" color unpainted no problem.

Almost all mudflaps require tapping the screws into the edge like you mentioned. There aren't really too many options for them. There is a "universal" Rally Armour kit you can get that some people use but its around $100-$120+ and I think has no hardware. They are an aggressive style mudflap. If you google Rally Armour you can see what they look like.

I made my own out of carbon fiber sheets that way I could use existing body kit mounting holes instead of drilling new ones
