trans swap

I have the 5sp and was thinking of swaping it for the 6sp out of a svt
#1- is it possible
#2- what do I need (besides the svt trans)
#3 how much if any modifying do I need to do

1. possible
2. everything from a svt trans
3. not a ton

however your stated goal of 700+whp id stick with the mtx75 it is a much more robust transmission.

Too much involved to swap to a unit that has little to no parts availability and only gains you an extra gear. NOT a higher top gear as some assume.

Axles, shifter, cables?, clutch assy. are all required IIRC.

Just heard a differential is avail. for them again today, that would be another performance piece to grab while you can as it hasn't been avail. for a while.

Worn out trans. shifter parts are only avail. through occasional small runs by enthusiasts (shifter bushing) and other parts of that only from J/Y. Axles to fit are hard to find, and many poor quality when found.

Everything said here, plus repairing the Getrag 6 speed is ungodly expensive due to the lack of parts. MTX-75 transmissions can be had all day long since they have been around for 20 years.
