mk1 v8 swap

To the few v8 swap mk1 focus owners, I was wondering how much room was UNDER the engine after swaps. It seems like you would rip the bottom end right out after a slight bump. If any have pics of the area under the car I would greatly appreciate it finally saved up to tear down my tired car and do a swap so just need a bit more info and then I'm ready

It sounds like you have a lot more researching to do. This type of swap usually cost a lot more than you think. I would think you have less room by the transmission.

It would seem you plan on doing an amazing build. With your knowledge and friends' knowledge you should be able to save quite a bit of money on the build. Sorry I don't have any pics of the bottom of my car anymore. I used to have pics of the bottom of my front end in the gallery here. You can check, but my build was with a 302. A smaller engine than the coyote.

The 5.0 Coyote block is about 4 inches taller and about 4 inches wider than the 302 but it's also about 3 inches shorter from front to back than the 302 and that's why I wanted to see the approximate size of the 302 in the bay because with a dry sump kit your looking at actually about 3 inches shorter than the stock 302. I plan on pushing 1000-1200 ho with the build I have in mine and if I can get a reliable dry sump system fitted then bring it on. Please go to project chimera my car build thread and see my plans sorry don't know how to add the page here
