Which would be cheaper / best?
I'm looking into doing a D23 swap and I plan on upgrading with forged internals as this will later be a boosted motor. So with that in mind I have a question. Which would be cheaper, buying a D23 and swapping in forged internals (assuming all is copasetic with the block and head) or finding a D20 and getting it bored out and put a D23 head on it?
Usually this would be a no brainer, but the D23 can run quite a bit more than a D20 and I would have to add in the cost of the B/S delete, buying new cams (as 2010 cams have to be used if I remember correctly), relocating the dipstick, etc.
I'm leaning toward getting the D20 block bored so I can avoid all the other hassles of swapping in a real D23, but I'd like to hear your opinions.
