SOHC Engine Change

I have two Focus's, one with the SOHC and one with DOHC.....and of course I have fallen prey to the famous SOHC Intake Valve Seat issue.....was running perfect one second, then the next it was toast, 135,000 miles of uninterupted smooth running. So I have purchased a junk yard 56K mileage SOHC engine, I am going to replace the head with a reman with the new improved valve seats, and using the intake off the good motor not the blown one.....The car is a 2003, the new engine is coming out of a 2000.

Can anybody tell me anything else I should know or change on this engine swap. The car is for my 16 year old daughter and I want to make sure I eliminate as many issues as humanly possible....

I am plunging in....received the Junkyard motor yesterday, all is coming apart just fine, appears that the PS, Altenator, AC Comp mount is different on my 2003 block vs the 2000 but I should be able to just move the brackets over

Everything is going great so far, got the junk yard engine, looks like it is OK, really rusty but I cleaned it up and painted.....got a reman head with corrected seats, put a new water pump and timing belt since I had it all out, just finished most of the reassembly of the engine today. I plan on dropping it back in week after next, have a few hoses and misc small stuff that I want to do before dropping it back in. Here are some pics of the new/used motor.

Well here is the bad news......after completing this lovely project I handed the keys back over to my 16 year old daughter who proceded to wreck the car 3 hours later. Doesn't look that bad, I can fix it, but according to the insurance company it is a total loss, so I will probably buy it back as salvage, still runs and drives great. But needs a headlight, fender, hood and a little banging and pulling......ahhhhh teenagers!

Swap looks great, sorry to see that it's wrecked now.

Did you have to change any of the harnesses or anything?
