Haven't done it on a focus, but on a v6 tempo.

Its alot of work you have to switch the entire foot pedal assembly, grab the motor/trans mount for the manual (not sure if its different on the focus), the whole shifter assembly

And wire it right for the nuetral safety switch and rewire the parking safety thats on the auto cars

All in all yes it can be done and fairly cheap if you find a junk yard donor, but WHY? Just trade it in for a manual foci, they are cheaper anyways so you might even make some dough, or at least get a foci with lower mileage etc.

Yes someone has. I did a trans swap on my 07 duratec focus from auto to 5speed. I have videos to back it up also. Took me almost 2 weeks to complete due to lack of wiring diagrams. The install of swapping the trans out is the easy part. But to make sure everything will work you have to have the ecu for the manual trans along with the trans harness. On my car I had to swap out the entire right side harness that plugs into the ecu and fuel pump. There is quite a bit involved but I was able to do everything for around $1,200. Finding a donar car is really hard to find out here in AZ that is already standard. Also I have no check engine lights or any other lights lit on the gauge cluster.
