5.0L Aluminator V8 swap

Is it possible to fit the Ford Aluminator 5.0L V8 in a 2010 Focus SE? I haven't seen any applications for this online and I'd like feedback from all the fanatics here that can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

If the DOHC 4.6 aluminator will fit then the 5.0 should have no problem. Of course this is all custom work so really you could make anything fit with enough time and money lol

lol such a terrible statement.....

that aside...... I don't know if they increased the dimensions over the 4.6 mod or not. Either way, computer control would be the next biggest concern. To allow it to function properly, you will either need to find a really good way to run megasquirt with it, or collect the harness, pedal assembly or find a way to convert the throttle to cable vs electric, computer systems and possible even subcomputers..... lotta stuff lol.

edit: being a 2010, you have the pedal assembly covered.. not sure about the rest.

It looks like the Coyote 5.0 has the same mounting points as the 4.6 and this place makes some stuff for a 4.6 swap. I don't think they have headers, oil pans, and etc for a Focus swap thoughhttp://www.kugelkomponents.com/focus/focusv8.php .

FRPP has a stand alone engine management for it... http://www.americanmuscle.com/frpp-c...e-control.html

I wonder how hard that would be to put in a toyota 4runner hahaha.

yeah that's honestly not too expensive for the engine and harness stuff..... what about the transmission?

Hey if you can afford the engine then what's an extra $1500 bucks lol. The new 5.0 has the same bolt pattern as the 4.6, which makes since because it would be the most cost effective way they could change the engine in the new Mustang.

It seems like the ECU has some issues with stalling; I haven't researched Mustang stuff since I sold mine lol.

If I were to do a V8 swap I'd do a 4.6 SOHC with an aluminum block from a Mark VIII, it should make a cheap, relatively light, low center of gravity V8 for a Focus. Then stroke it to 5.0!

You could, if the Mark VIII's had SOHC's in them. They had the DOHC rated slightly lower than the cobra. The DOHC motor is as wide as a 460 big block due to it's heads being so wide. Ford should have the measurements of the motors they sell, or at least they did back in the day in the catalogs.
