swapping out throttle body????

I was told that some vehicles are able to swap out there automatic throttle body for a manual throttle body and by doing this making it a clutchless manual??? I have a 2009 Focus Se...Basically I'd like to make it a manual and if I can do this without throwing of the computer and having to have to codes changed that would be great... any thoughts or ideas?

im confused?

you should slap who ever said swapping a TB is going to make your car a manual. or anything like a manual because it wont.

the only way to get your car like a manual is well a trans swap.

You might be confused with the car being manual (as in gear shifting) and the throttle body being manual (as in a cable attached to the gas pedal opens the butterfly valve in the throttle body to allow air into the engine). Throttle bodies on that generation of focus are fly by wire. Meaning you push the gas pedal, it sends that info to the computer which sends it to the throttle body, it then opens the butterfly valve.

i know the TB is drive by wire and not mechanical. from the original post to me it seemed someone informed him that changing the TB some how changed the kind of transmission he has.

that and its posted in the transmission/engine swap section.

Yah your right, however, my response was directed at the origional poster, not to you. Just trying to clarify for them a bit. I should have quoted his origional question.
