debating whether or not I should do the mtx swap...

Im not sure if I should do the swap, or just keep my wagon auto. If I do keep it auto, is it really that hard to engage the stator turbine and TC?

Well you instantly gain whp by doing it not to mention the fun factor is tripled. Fords autos seem to suck so much power up IMO

Of course ask your self these questions.

Is the car paid for?
Can you afford it?
Is it worth it?

Just a few questions. Sometimes it's easier in the long run just to find a car that is already a standard.

Cool, sounds like you can get it done then. Are you planning on doing all the work your self? If so that's even more money saved. If you can try to find a whole donor car. Any one wrecked from the back should work just fine. You'll be needing everything from the dash forward if I remember right.

It is much easier to replace the dash wiring harness, PCM harness/PCM and trans harness than it is to rig all the wiring and get a tune to make it work. Then everything is just as it would have come from the factory.

If I dont have to wire anything, then I will definitely do the swap if someone can find me an mtx75 fir under 400 shipped.

The pullapart junkyards only charge maybe $100 for a mtx75, but you have to pull it yourself.
