is my diff going?

Cars an 01 zetec auto wagon. When the cars STOPPED, and you turn the wheel to the right it vibrates, but it never happens when turning the wheel left or going straight. Whats the culprit here?

You can notice a differential going: during turns you will feel a 'gap' like a jerk.
You have maybe 30 miles to 300 miles from the first time you feel it to the death of your diff.
I had it happen to my Contour SVT.
A close friend had it happen on his Supra.

can you explain what the gap feels like? Is it when you turn and the trans has trouble grabbing the gear?

no it will be kind of like a lurch. Since you say it is happening while at at stop and don't saying anything about cornering at speed. I would make sure your ball joints and tie rods are till ok as well as being sure your power steering fluid isn't low or extremely old.

If this happens when the car is stopped I am hard pressed to say there is anything wrong with the diff, You probably have a bad motor/trans mount. Pop the hood and see what the motor is doing while you are stopped doing these wheel turning manuvers, if there is excessive movement from a particular side of the motor you have probably found the culprit.

More commonly you might have a bad CV joint if it isn't the engine mounts.

when I am cornering really fast to the right the trans will also slip out of gear till the engine stops leaning. Also when I put the car in reverse I get really bad vibrations. Im thinking its a lower engine mount? Ive had this car for 10k miles and its been doing it since I got it.
