changing auto trans fluid

Does anyone have an opinion on how often to change auto trans fluid? I have a 2007 Focus with 2.0L Duratec. If I'm reading the manual right, it says every 30K if you have a "torq-shift", but seems to say 150K for all others. What is torq-shift?
Thanks for the help.

don't change it. i know it says to but i wouldn't ever change it cuz your trans gets used to the thickness and adjusts to it and changing it changes the way the trans will act. i just got out of trans classes and normally after you change it you will have problems.

Follow the Ford engineers recommended intervals and you'll be fine.

I have an 08 and changed mine at 105000 miles for the 1st time. I did the flush per manual removing the return line pumping fluid out and then replacing. At the end dropped the pan and changed the filter. The fluid that came out during the flush was not bad. When I dropped the pan the little round magnet barely had any filings on it. Everything looked really clean. I was not having any problems before and have not had after the service, 112000miles.
