shifter cable issue

not sure if this is the right place to post this so forgive me if its not. maybe you can help. i have a zetec engine and mtx 75 tranny. the white ended shift cable has the rubber grommet thing on the end to hold it on the shifter lever. well its warm out. is there a replacment for just this piece as i can just slide out the whole center of the circular end. i just cant afford to replace the whole cable right now thanks for all the help in advance guys

You might try General Auto Salvage in Claremont http://www.generalautosalvage.com/. They are an excellent diy yard, and they had dozens of Foci when I was there several months ago. Good luck.

The white and black end of the cable is avalable separately. There are two versions before and after 4/17/02 you would have the earlier style. They cost about 20 each let me know what color you broke and i can get you one.

glad to see people helping out with those damn cables. when i put my motor n tranny back in it was hard as hell twisting those cables apart to fit snug into their little brackets
