2002 SVT overheated. Needs head.rebuild or swap?

First off thank you to you experts. I overheated my 2002 svt and the head is junk. The lower end is good with very light scoring. My problem is I commute in it so time is important. I can not find an Svt head or an engine at a good price. so my question is. Can I use the head off a stock 2.0 or how hard is the 2.3 swap? Thank you in advance.

To do a 2.3 swap you're gonna have to change trannies, motors, mounts, wiring, ecu probably axles. I think a stock 2.0 head will work but then you have to worry about codes for the vct and the dual stage intake I would imagine. And that's where all your power comes from ( the head) I think its going to be easier to just buy a replacement motor or head. They are obsolete so they are gonna be hard to find. I can't see a head being too awful much. I would have sold you mine but I just sent it off to topspeed for a core charge on their stage 2 head.

What caused the overheat? Was the head tanked and pressure tested or is it visibly cracked?

The drive belt came off while driving down the freeway and it overheated. I sent it to two machine shops and it will cost over 700 to have it straightened and repaired. The block can be honed with only light scoring. I am having a problem finding a head. I found a few motors but they are over 1500.00. I was hoping to fix it cheaper then that.
