2.0L SPI to 2.0L Zetec

We all know how it works, I dropped a valve seat and my engine is bucked. Looking to do a conversion to the Zetec.

Now, I want answers. It seems every thread just says search for info, which I have done, there is nothing or the information is conflicting. It seems no one can agree.

First, how difficult is this swap? Some say, "Simple I do 80 a week." Others, "Impossible. You need everything, too expensive. Don't bother hurrrr."

Additionally, what do you need to swap it, what parts?
No one agrees. Some say absolutely everything. While others say the engine, ECU, and the wiring harness. Some say the transmissions work too. I read a thread where everyone told a guy the trans wouldn't work. Lo he did the swap and the trans worked fine.

So please some answers. Don't tell me to search for a thread, because I have and what I have found has been useless. Clear information. Only post if you have done this swap YOURSELF, alot just hear things. Sorry to be blunt, but I need to know.

I have a 2002 SE automatic, I have got a complete car from the junk yard, also an auto.
Cheers.

Thank-you very much. I apologize; I do not know how I didn't see these.
Just got the old engine out today. New one in later in the week. Thanks again.

The autos both used a 4f27e. They are interchangeable, they just have different gear ratios. When we done my fiances swap I cut the wiring harness on the passenger side and spliced it all together there. All I needed was a coolant transfer pipe, some different hoses, the ecu reflashed and the header and flex was different. I'm trying to think of anything else. I had a whole donor car. Its basically wiring. The spi has one o2 sensor and the zetec has two so the tranny harness is different but that could have just been difference in years. 01 to a 02

Does the Zetec shift funny with the SPI auto tranny?

I have a SPI auto that I need to put in my Zetec Auto car.

It is a 2000. My 2002 is made before the switch over during the 2002.5 "model year."

No it shifts just as it should. I do think the spi gear ratio got better gas mileage or it could be that I cleaned everything before I put the zetec back together after it sat for over a year.
