Lincoln MkVIII 5.0 swap

Alright guys I know this sounds crazy but i'm really looking to do this. I want a sleeper car and I think my Focus fits the bill more than pefectly. So a few questions...
  1. Would this engine fit without cutting into anything?
  2. I already know I have to do a tranny swap, make mounts, change suspension, and move battery/change setup of the engine compartment. What do you guys think i could keep in there?

So yeah... any comments or criticism is appreciated greatly! More news should be coming up soon!

at first i thought you meant the Coyote 5.0L inside a Mark VIII. but to answer your question yes it can work. there's a few Terminator and N/A Cobra powered Focus' around the net. there's also a 5.8L (or 351) powered ZX3 on youtube called ZX351. judging from this pic i'd guess the only thing you could keep is that coolant overflow reservior.

Let's clear this up... do you mean a ('93-'98) MK VIII 4.6 32V or a ('84-'92) MK VII pushrod 5.0? Either way it has been done and I think they make kits to help do the conversion.

i think he means the Mark VII since that had the 5.0L. i think everyone just thinks of the Mark VIII since that one had the Cobra engine.

Meteor: I'll have to ask around and see what parts I can find so I don't have to mock up anything myself but I'm sure it'll have to happen at some point...

Red Jay: That is a very beautiful picture and DAMN that thing takes up a lot of space... hmmm... I guess you're right though The coolant holder is about all that can really stay up there. It's okay though cause I was planning on moving the battery to the back.

Sniper Focus: Yeah I'm looking around at the moment but I'm not finding too much... Hopefully some things will come out of the woodwork soon. First though I need to get a new job so I can afford to do this... hahaha

Also if anyone is near or in Illinois I'd love to work with you guys! I'll be sure to keep updating this regularly so you will all know what has been going on lately. Also updates on other things. I kind of want to get the Euro A/C kit too and do that.

Mostly just planning on stripping the car down to shell and getting it sandblasted and the body worked on. Then rebuilding from there and dropping the new engine/drivetrain in with better suspension and some modified insides. Planning on painting her matte black. She's a dream car but I'm hoping to be making her a reality sometime within the near future! Wish me luck!

All: I'm pretty positive it was a Mark VIII with a 5.0 I may be wrong though. My dad has the engine sitting out at his shop on a pallet. It's been through some rough weather so I'm going to have to do some work on it before I even put it in the focus.

I just checked with my father it is in fact the "Coyote" 5.0L 302ci engine.

Thats an ATI Terminator my pops had one of those good god that thing was a stupid car. I have never seen such a burnout machine in my life. I mean stupid as in scary fast awesome whine of the supercharger 490whp monster. Brakes sucked and I think 275 or 285s in the rear but it doesnt hook worth nothing.

Ive been looking for another ever since that one got wrecked. They were almost $60,000 if i remember correctly back in 04 or 05. ATI Special order
