Electrical Q's on the swap

I just got a 00 SE Its manual 5 speed. Motor is blown piston broken got it for 600 bucks.

Before Everyone says "SEARCH" I have searched I can do the swap but I get getting confused by some people saying i need to change the cluster harness because my car is 00.

So my Q's is do i really need to get the underneath the dash harness?

Can I just l just splice and match the wires and solder under the dash?

Im not a Newb at swaps i used to have a SVTF until it got totaled now i just finshed a SR20DET swap in my Infiniti so i think i can do this swap just need that info on electrical

Thanks in advance

what year is the new motor/tranny?

also its prob not a broken piston. its prob a dropped valve seat. very common in those motors.
