a/c compressor

Can I unbolt the A/C from the engine block without having the A/C discharged first?

yes you can... Not sure on the other engines but the spi was at the bottom and had 4 bolts holding it up.

thats all you are doing though, right? Just unbolting, not replacing?

Replacing the engine, so unbolting, holding, then re-attaching.
I also need to detach fuel lines going to the fuel rail, and alas I didn't depressurize before I started taking the car apart. But it's been sitting a day, so should it be fine now, or do I still need to do something?

ok I see, I just took out my engine a few days ago. Id recommend getting something to hold the compressor off of the ground so its not dragging if you have to move the thing.

As far as the fuel system, I dunno... I forgot to do that too and only had a little drip out from one of the quick disconnects up by the fuel rail.

Well, here's hoping it's only a little drip too! Thanks
