can i drop a dohc engine in a sohc car without to much change

my friends mom has a sohc 02 focus and she blew the motor. i've found sohc engines for 1100-1500 but dohc engines except svt for 400-600 with low miles. is there any major hurdles to undertake or can this be a drop and go all help would be awesome

If it's auto then you need the motor, wiring harness, ecu, pass side motor mount, and probably a few other things. If it's standard then you need a trans too, or some custom way to hook up the IB5 to the Zetec. IIRC there is something with where the clutch goes on that is different between the MTX-75 and the IB5. But also the search is your friend.

It's been covered multiple times, so I'll say something not important lol...

Depends on from how high you drop it, and the position of where you drop it from.

Moved to Engine and Transmission swap.

Search in here, there are several FF's who've done this swap already.

short answer is no. you might have to change the tranny as well. you will have to swap out ECU's. that is gonna be a pain in the neck. actually putting the engine in and bolting everything in wont be too bad. the electrical is what is a pain
