Options for replacing SVT getrag.

So like the title says, I would like to know my options for replacing this getrag transmission from my 02 SVTF. It currently has 57k miles on it, and forth gear grinds when shifted into. I never had the TSB done, and had clutch replaced, so from previous posts, I see I'll have to replace them as well, again. What I want to get from this thread is what can one do to replace his getrag transmission? My objective is to make this transmission "bulletproof". I cannot keep dumping money into a car that has so little miles on it. I would like to keep six gears, but scared of putting a used getrag back in. Also I saw that maybe the MTX could be put into my car. But no, to me that just doesn't sound fun. Also something that Mini Coopers? I don't even know lol. How do I go about finding a transmission that will fit into my Focus, or what can I do to make that getrag last forever. The car has had be kept in good maintenance for its life. But ever since the supercharger it seems like the car keeps having problems. For the mean time I cripple the car around town, skipping from 3rd to 5th. The SVT was not meant for this kind of life.

I don't know if it has been done but getrag does make a lot more transmissions they probably have an updated version of ours or one meant for more power although this probably wouldn't be a cheap option.

I would sell a kidney on the black market before I swapped to an MTX-75. The gearbox is definitely one of the most satisfying parts of the SVT. I would look into having it professionally rebuilt and just live with the 4th gear grinding or skipping 4th until then.

Haha, skipping 4th actually isn't that hard. 4th and 5th feel so close in ratio. Rebuilding the Getrag is not an option. There are no spare parts offered for it. You either find a new or used one, that's it to my knowledge. The kinda sorta cheaper option is swapping in an MTX-75, even if you really really really don't want to. They are dime-a-dozen, can be rebuilt, clutches are cheaper, etc, etc.

I was just thinking has anyone tried asking on a Mini forum about transmission parts? Since doesn't the Cooper S use the same transmission?

mini coopers s gearing is different.

you could do a mtx75 tranny, 4.06 final drive. you have to use the zetec flywheel and clutch.

Quaife doesnt make a complete tranny for the svt 95% sure.

they make gears sets, sequential shifter (believe they do) ad differentials.

a set of gears from them and a diff will cost you probably close to 6k. before labor.

but you would have dog engagement (which whines like a mofo (socoool))
and basically a bad ass tranny that not many people have. esp. here in the us.

and the way the getrags are with the two lay shafts they can actually support a lot more tq than youd expect and imagine.
