Lets assume I can get the engine and tranny for a reasonable amount along with the ecu. What else would be involved with the swap. 265 horse for about 4 grand sounds nice.
well u would need the wire harness for it as well but ive heard its wayy to difficult and if u want the power of a mazdaspeed 3 u might as well just buy one lol
agreed. you could be making that much power on a turbo setup for about the same amount of cash with less hassle. lots of fabrication and cussing would be involved with a mazda swap
If just the engine, trans, and ECU are $4k, the swap itself would cost at least 50% more. Motors don't just drop into completely different cars. Turbo Focus will wreck a stock MS3 []
that article is VERY old. they never finish that project.
Just boost your current engine. I used to have a MS3 before I lost my job. So i got a SVTF(MS3 little bro) with the money i spent on bolt on's for the MS3, I have already boosted my SVTF....
Umm, I could be wrong but, don't You already have a Duratec 2.3L? Why go through the hell of swapping(essentially) the same engine into Your car, when You could just boost what You have for the same $$$ and eat MS3s all day long?
