New to all this...

I just got a 2010 focus and I have always been a toyota guy, so all this ford stuff is jibber jabber to me still. My main question is what are the best engine swaps to do, because this car is frickin slow... i did some searching around and the best motors I could find are the 151hp 2.3l duratec and the 170hp 2.0l dtec. Is there anything else better that could swap into this car without serious modification? Can these motors even be swapped in? Or is the motor I have Capable of putting out reliable power? Thanks

Did you test drive the car before you bought it?, When you realized the car was "slow" what were your reasons for buying the car....gas mpg...reliability...etc. You should have test driven other cars, and if you did, there must have been something about the car you found appealing. Get a turbo put in, cold air intake and exhaust. These are good mods to use. Good luck

You do relize that is the engine you got in your car? Did you get an automatic tranny? If so that would be what I'd look into swaping. Then get a tune, turbo, and suspension.

So the svt motor is the same as the motor in the 2010? (besides the 30hp difference) And it is a 5 speed wouldnt have got it if it wasnt :) And yes I do like the way it looks and the way it drives and of course the gas mileage. I just want to start having fun with it already. how about what kind of things should I be looking at to get around 220hp?

SVT motor was a 2.0L Zetec with better compression, intake and exhaust, VCT, some other goodies. 170bhp, usually around 145-150 or so at the wheels I think.

Anyway don't worry about engine swaps, they are generally uneconomical for our cars especially since you have one of the better engines, there are turbo kits out there that will put you over 200hp easily. I hope you have a manual trans though or it involves more work. Actually I just saw you got the 5-speed, you won't have problems then. Turbo kit is the quickest and probably cheapest way to get there. Other than that, throw on a stiff suspension and you'll be amazed at what this car can do.

Did you have a 3sgte by any chance? Why oh why would you swap to a Focus?
They are a different kind of fun though when you start putting parts on.
