If I recall, the manual SPIs used the IB5 transmission... someone chime in on this, 'cause I'm not sure. I know there have been a few threads by people with SPIs wanting to swap to a Dura, is this what you're wanting to do?

the SPI is a single overhead cam, duratecs are dual overhead cam
spi=garbage zetec/duratec=gold
any questions? lol

if your car is between 2000 and 2004 you could possibly swap a SPI to duratec and use factory motor mounts. it would make sense because the motor mounts on my spi seem to be in the same location on the frame as the zetec and if memory serves some 03 and 04 models came with duratecs and the motor mounts are in the same location on the frame of those as well. lots of stuff would have to get changed out to do this swap tho.
