Founds the Zetech/Duratech T-5 Bell Housing

Here is the link to the company who makes the Bell housing to mount the Zetech or Duratech to a T-5 Transmission

Link isn't working for me. Is this so that you can attach a RWD tranny to the Zetec/Duratec and convert your Focus to RWD? Or am I completely off base?

Here is the link to the home page. From there you can use the page links on the right.

Quad4 Rods

These would be real useful if you were building a Lotus 7 clone.

Couldn't you theoretically mount a Zetec, mated to a T-5 and a ford rear diff and have a pretty kickass high-revving RWD hatchback?

Sure, but unless you can also put in an IRS instead of a live axle, I'm not sure it would be worth losing the handling of the stock chassis.

Of course, if you are building a drag car where the live axle isn't a disadvantage, and you add some (lots of) boost, that might be worth considering.

Seems like a fun project that wouldn't be TOO expensive (at least without boost). I can't help but think of it as being an American AE86.

Are there IRS options for the Focus?

Not that I am aware of. You could probably start with the Kugel komponents kit, and that would get you most of the way there.

You would have to fabricate your own engine mounts, and if you wanted IRS, you could look at one of the kits they have out there for street rods. Maybe a Jag rear end.

It would certainly be a fun challenge, but I don't think I would call it cheap.

Yeah, especially not on my current budget. Perhaps when I have the SVT paid off in a few years I can try to swing this. By that point I will have completed my classes and will have a bit more free time.

Perhaps by the time this is even financially possible the Duratec 25s will be a bit cheaper and more available. :)
