Question Tranny whining when I put clutch in??

I got a new 6 speed transmission in my 03 svt last month. The first one had a bad synchronizer so they replaced the whole thing. Anyway since I have had the car back everytime i step on the clutch to shift gears it whines. My car did not do this with the last tranny. As soon as I let go of the clutch the whining goes away. It does it every time i shift gears and is annoying. I called the transmission shop and they said it was normal with a sport clutch. Then I showed it to a friend of mine and he said it was the throwout bearing. They both said not to worry about it but its still doing it...any thoughts? it would be greatly appreciated. Also my clutch sort of creaks now when i let it up. It did not do this before either. Thanks for your comments!

IMHO - The problem is not going to go away on it's own, and it may or may not get worse sooner than later, but..........

you definetely have a throwout bearing related problem that could require an R & R of the trans to diag/fix.

The creaking noise may or may not be directly related to the throwout bearing problem, but the pedal and throwout bearing are both working in tandem when you press on the pedal!

It might just need some lubrication of the clutch pedal pivots etc. under the dash.

Is the creak coming from under the dash or under the hood?

If the new "sport clutch" is a heavier pressure plate, that requires more force to actuate the clutch, you may have just uncovered some weak links in your older clutch linkage.

If the throwout bearing is new and the correct application for the clutch, it really should not make any whining noise, its supposed to allow the pressure plate to spin easily with no friction/resistance as you apply the clutch.

Noise is always caused by vibration, which can only be caused by worn/damaged/misaligned parts. The important question is how long will this be working before it get's worse?
