Most likely have to do some metal work, but you will also need the computer, harness, and a few more other thigns to go along with that. Your are dealing with 2 completely different motor/transmissions.

Smile Duratechs into early Foci

I am currently doing this swap. Car is '00 SE wagon which originally had the SFI 2.0. It decided to drop the #4 intake valve seat around 140k. Car sat while I decided what to do with it since it was too nice to junk. Finally found a t-boned '06 sedan donor with 26k. 2.0 Duratech. After some research I decided that swap was possible and probably not too difficult since I'm a pro-car builder by trade. Bought all the goodies and brought them home.
As of today the engine and trans is installed. This was easy with the '06 mounts, easy bolt in, no cutting. Drivetrain was installed with all acc. in place but minus the exhaust manifold due to modifications needed to exhaust system.
Next is all the wiring... so far I have the main harness installed in the car which required removing the interior and dash. Fairly straight forward but involved procedure. Tonight I was going through all my parts and figuring out which heater and radiator hoses would be used. Also changed out the high pressure ps hose from pump to rack.
FYI- this car will be fairly close to stock to begin with. After I have it up and running then the fun begins... I'm thinking maybe a turbo setup and a custom engine management and fuel system. One step at a time though.
Due to limited time available for me to work on my personal cars, it may be a bit before the Focus is up and running but I'm taking photos and I always keep a notebook on each car I build... old street racer habits die hard!
If anyone has any questions or comments, drop me a line
