There's lots that can be done to the SPI, and the internals can handle up to around 400hp, but good luck finding the parts to do it without breaking the bank. For the money it would cost to bump an SPI up to respectable levels, You may as well go for the swap.

BTW, welcome to FF

a swap is pretty involved, youll need a donor car for the motor and wiring harness amongst other things, plus the zetec isnt going to be ALL that much more wonderful for the money and time youll put into swapping and also the zetec doesn;t respond to power adding mods that greatly except for going FI. My advice unless you seriously want to dump some coin into that car run it til it dies and buy another newer one with the motor you want (preferably svt or d23)

if you can turbo it for cheap, you should be making more than a stock or slightly modded zetec.

I just found you a 2.0 Duratec brand new for $250 on craigslist near my house. Your in Utah and you could get it there fairly cheap....

Or you could look for a 2.3 duratec which is what I would do.... But its up to you.

That's a much better idea than going w/a Zetec. Get that D20 block and put a D23 header on Her, You will enjoy the end result, Methinks.

If ur going for FI (forced induction) I say zetec if not then duratec. D23 is gonna be hard to find lol but d20 is commen and a good motor. I personally would do the swap with the zetec but it all ur choice man. Look through some old threads on the site and I'm sure you'll find some info on the swap. Welcome to ff btw
