Cool Duratec 3.0L swap/ RS sedan build

OK sorry to get you guys a bit excited (assuming I did lol). I hope to have the engine purchased by the end of this year, and work on getting drivetrain and electrical parts throughout the next...however long it takes.

this is a bunch of junk, a list I made up earlier..... it's not exact, nor does it cover every little bit. just all what I could think of. so far it's what I want to do now. thought I'd finally get out a finalized (almost at least) plan.

maybe someone can give me other better ideas lol.

Drivetrain/suspension:
-3.0L V6 Duratec long block, ~05 Taurus.
-Escape oil pan update
-ports matched to fit contour SVT upper and lower intake manifolds
-cSVT cams
-Cougar/SPI hybrid passenger side engine mount
-stock Jaguar X-Type (possible hybrid with SPI as well) driver side mount
-stock lower dogbone mount, with custom bracket
-04 Jaguar X-Type 5-speed manual transaxle w/ output shaft for AWD
-possible use of the Jag's rear subframe to fit transfer case and other goodies.
-Limited slip differentials
-y-pipe leading to high flow cat
-dual exit exhaust (one on each end of the bumper)
-magnaflow muffler(s)
-Nautilus Performance stage 2 turbo kit (likely) 8-10psi
-Turbonetics T3/T4 .63 AR Masterpower Turbo 60 trim good for 500hp
-38mm wastegate 8 psi Spring
-42lb.Precision injectors
-Stainless Steel hot and cold pipes
-2.5" downpipes w/ SS flex
-upgraded BOV
-Focus SVT pump
-KB BAP (if necessary)
-SVTf suspension (if it doesn't work with modification. I'll try the Jag suspension)

Exterior: (as OEM as possible)
-Wide body RS front bumper, fenders
-F2 rear fender flares
-SAP rear bumper (if no find, guess I'll go with the RS rear as well)
-05 trunk lid, tail lights......whatever else is needed
-ST170 headlights, OR Mach HIDs (DEPO or OEM) (black housings)
-BMW e55 ballasts/lens
-OEM headlight lenses
-SVTf mirrors, color matched
-lightly tinted tails and windows
-Euro front grille (key lock IF possible)
-35th anniverary edition cougar wheels (black center cap)
-full body repaint, same color (Harvest Gold )

Interior:
-reupholstered black leather seats and rear bench (unless Recaros are found )
-02 cougar dash gauges (white face, orange needle. silver)
-RS steering wheel (unless cougar wheel fits )
-RS shift knob
-RS brake handle
-RS pedals (maybe lol)
-black interior, silver accents (like I have now, but permanent)
other stuff I can't think of now

ICE/brains/wiring:
-double DIN touch screen, connected to carPC
-00 SVTc ECU
-contour engine harness
-cougar dash wiring (maybe contour? lol)
-contour body wiring
again, other stuff. can't think of it now

Anyway, that's basically the idea though. It'll take a while, but I'm hoping to be in possesion of a D30 by the end of the year. from that I can build it up till I get the chance to get the rest of the drivetrain and wiring done. then I can work on the looks . I am amazed however, at how easy it should be; for that matter, not as hard anyway (the fact that half the mounts go in the stock foci's mounts makes it WAY easier.)

I expect to get around 400whp, 410wtq on this thing, but I'm not making any promises. just basing it off of a contour with the same brains, engine mods, exhaust, and turbo kits as the one I want. As you can see, obviously I need the AWD for here lol.

Should be fun. I like to think of it as buying a new car. better than anything you can buy now for that kind of power. OK, maybe not better, but much cheaper for the same performance

Maybe you could try this guy out, he did what you want to do, but he used a 99 Contour SVT

^^ thanks, I'm always happy to find new information :)

I wish it were that easy to do in a focus as it is in a contour though :P

Sounds like a fun project with great performance potential, Mike. Might I suggest adding a radiator with much higher heat-shedding capacity so that all that power can live?

Yeah I'm definitely gonna do it.... I don't see why I should buy a new car when I can have the satisfaction of having built it, as well as knowing it inside and out. That was kinda my idea when I built my computer... No manufacturing faults.

Btw where the hell did did my AWD photo go??? Gah.

Edit: I also managed to park next to an x-type yesterday and found that they have the same wheelbase, and about the same length as far as the frame goes it also has independent rear suspension and I may even be able to use the stock focus suspension and control arms...
