MTX75 mated to SVT Zetec: Discuss

I don't have an SVT, so this is not something I will ever think of doing. (Unless maybe I get one someday.)

What got me thinking about this was the SVT vs. ST Challenge. According to both Ford and FF's event, they are within fractions of a second of each other, in spite of the very different power numbers. And the part blamed is the 6-speed Getrag transmission, which is geared for top end.

So what I have to wonder is: What would an SVT perform like if it were mated to the humble MTX75?

It would only be better right off the line. Other than that, the Getrag is better suited to the SVT motor.

I think the only problem with the getrag is the tall 1st gear, other than that it rocks.

I cant wait to see how it performs with a snail bolted on

I always thought my zx3's 1st gear was too short, and then, middle of 3rd gear, the car fell on its face. There are many times at the track where I would get the SVT off of the line, and then middle of third, there goes to the SVT by me.

Now that I own an SVT, I love the getrag. 1st gear is tall, but I love it! Reminds me of the 1st gear of the 5.0 I drove. Could wind that thing all the way to 46 mph, and that was shifting it at 6k rpms.

I only wish the SVT had a small to medium sized turbo for these gears. 1st may be tall, but the rest are fairly close ratio. 3rd gear is AWESOME.
