Best way to pull a svt engine

ok im going to be pulling my eninge soon and i need to know which way is the best way to go?

should i unbolt the tranny from the engine and pull the eninge out of the top?

im also going to be repacnig the clutch.

my friend suggested pull the engine and tranny out all together?
which i kinda think is dumb personally.

advice.

thanks

engine + tranny is much much much much much....

easier.

theres just not enough room in the bay to separate them easily. It can be done, but much easier to just do it outside the car.

that is if you can get it on a lift. if you just are using axle stands and only have enough space to crawl under the car its easier to pull motor and tranny together out the hood with a cherry picker, gotta have a cherry picker.

If you have a floor jack you would be able to drop it out the bottom.

huh? how you figure? unless you get the front of the car a good 3 ft+ into the air it aint fitting out the bottom. you arent gonna get that with a floor jack unless you jack the car up as high as you can, support it on axle stands and then put the jack on top of a 2 foot tall concrete block and jack it again. please dont do that because its very dangerous. friend of mine nearly died from a pinto getting dropped on him like that.

since you wont listen to us on TexasSportCompact.......

I wont tell you...again....that the easiest way to do it is dropping it from the bottom as one peice engine/tranny together.....

there is no such thing as quick and easy when pulling a motor/trans from a car like this

i agree with the master. there is no quick and easy way to do it. all you can do is make the process as smooth and simple as possible. it will still take you several hours and it wont be easy.
