Those considering an svt 2.5 swap

I dont recommend going through all that trouble. I believe, well... can assure the 2.3 is better. Ive tested a few svtc's lately.... stock and modified, no contest. Just my opinion, trying to save others time and money.

I feel like the v-6 is more capable in the torque aspect though. I know they only came with like 140 something tq and 190 horse but i dunno

I had a 99 svtc a long time ago it seems. Thought is was the fastest thing ever, and it was the fastest car i had owned. After i got my ST many years later my dad, took it for a spin and told me it was way more powerful then the svtc ever was. I.. at the time didnt believe him. But after some time realized and proved him right. Weight is the main factor i think. The svtc i believe still has the ST handling-wise.... I think...?

Depending on the year of the CSVT 2.5 depends on the hp/tq rating, with the 2000 model being the highest rated at 200hp. The CSVT handles better, its a chassis built for the curves.

Honestly, the 2.5 swap is there for someone who wants a tq curve. As aftermarket parts are limited, but you really don't need to break open the motor other than to refresh it if you wanted boost. The stock internals can handle power up to 400hp reliably.

To my knowledge power ratings stayed at 200hp and 170tq at the flywheel for all three years it was made. So... Much more weight and a tiny bit of displacement for little bit a torque. But if they have more money to turbo it....why whould they? Theyd save more money, and less time, and less weight by turboing a 2.3L which would definetly overpower the svt. If your trying to waste all this time and money you have, i guess thats the way id do it.
