hypothetical question?

I have been talking to a friend of mine about engine swaps lately. He has a CRX with a b16a2, but i would like a little more power than that. Would it be possible to fit a subaru boxer engine in a SVT?
Or is there another engine that would be better to go with?

I imagine a boxer engine would require using one of their AWD transaxles, which would be a lot of fabrication. If your heart is set on a non-Ford engine swap, maybe a k24?

You'll probably have an easier time just swapping in a beastly 2.3L Duratec, though.

A Volvo I5 turbo would be cool, too.

im not set on anything, just thinking of different options for the future. as of right now i have no job (fing circuit city closing!!!) so i will not be doing any big projects on the car in the near future. Idk, i guess either way is going to be pretty spendy. if i turbo the SVT i can hit 300 pretty easy, but how long will a SVT engine hold up running 15 lbs of boost?

If you don't have a job, leave the car alone, man. Boosting and engine swaps are not cheap. LOL

sorry for the double post. damn internet shut down on me when i was sending.

No, i am not doing anything right now, just planning. I have a job lined up already, so no worries there, but once i start working again i want to start either saving for a new engine, or buying parts to turbo the existing engine.
what would your predictions be as far as life of my engine if i were to run 13-15 psi? it has 78,000 on it right now, and i would replace the clutch with a stage 2 or 3 and a light weight flywheel.

if its maintained well, quite some time. that motor should have no problems with 15psi for 100k miles if you take care of it.

alright cool. well I will just start researching turbos and plan on doing it that way then, will be alot less work i would imagine doing a turbo rather than a whole engine swap. and prob. cheaper because i can do most of the work on the turbo, the wiring of an engine... not so much lol. thanks alot guys!!
