97 lumina v6

have a friend who has a friend who has a 97 chevy lumina with a new v6 engine in it. He will sell the car for 500. So IF i bought the stupid thing I could take the engine out and put it in the car. My focus is an 06 auto sedan and I'd like to keep it that way. So, I'm gonna guess that I can't just keep my old trans or just pop in the lumina's or just drop the engine in... With the parts I have how much would it costs to do all this if I could find a friend with a shop willing to help and what other major parts would I need. I know I'd need a wiring harness or something. Thanks. SPACE

youll need custom motor mounts, custom axels, wiring books/harnesses for each car, a TON of time and money to iron everything out... etc etc. and for what? a wheezy 3.1L lumina motor and 4 speed auto?

heres my suggestion: take the 500 you wouldve used and go buy a 2.3L duratec out of the junkyard and build that. OR! start saving for FS turbo. either way you can keep your auto and upgrade it with lentech bits.

okay my other post got deleted maybe i didnt express what i was tring to say in the best way.
i dont quite understand why you are looking to put a 10 year old GM v6 into a relatively new car. I would really suggest you look at other options. It would be more expensive then it is worth.
you would need the engine and trans. harness and computer. custom mounts. custom axles. custom exhaust. and even after having done all that work now you have a heavy from end with not that much more power, and less reliability. The money you would spend having someone fabricate exhaust and mounts alone would likely pay for a decent nitrous setup and it would be faster and more reliable.

To much work for that engine, esp in a newer car IMO. I have heard of people swapping the 3800 (I assume that's what it is) into Cavaliers and having them be pretty quick. I've heard of a guy swapping in a GTP supercharged engine into one and running low 13's on a bone stock engine.

if you want a car worth modding, go buy a 2nd gen eclipse.
