Question Changing the Trans Filter...

I was wondering if its difficult or in need of special tools to change the transmission filter and gasket?

I have a '04 SE.

I plan on purring all full synthetic trans oil in it. I have had wonderful luck using Mobil-1 in my Nissan Xterra.

Not difficult at all. Just remove the 20 or so bolts from the pan and let the fluid drain. pull the filter straight out and carefully unplug that plug. Wipe out your trans pan and clean off magnet. Take your new filter and put some oil on your finger and rub it on the filter o-ring. Plug connector back in. If you bought the filter kit it shold have come with a pan gasket. If not use silicone. Bolt it back up and refill with fluid.
