Do you know of any how-to's to turn a automatic trans to a manual.. Like specific things that would need to be done.. Or is it better just to call up a ford dealership and talk to a mechanic about that.

why yes its very possible... and actually... pretty straight forward... if you can change a clutch and can read a wiring diagram... then you can do this swap....

I just finished mine this weekend.... ZTS sedan... went from ATX to the getrag 6spd w/ quaife... took a full 2 days from start to finish basically.... only thing to really look into is that you'll have to have your ecu re-tuned for the gear ratio's of the 6spd.... amung a few other things.... currently i'm driving with no speedo because of this.

anyways... here is my post over on FJ
http://forums.focaljet.com/forced-in...ound-up-6.html

just do your research before hand and have all of the parts there and ready to go.

Ok now another question would be.. Since i need to get my ECU flashed for the tranny Can I just use the stock ECU from a SVTF? or will that screw up my engine.

Not sure if it would 'screw up' your motor but the standard zetec and SVT motors are 2 different beasts so I know it probably at the very least wouldn't run right at all

After reading the How To on doing this swap it seems to me that the car was already a manual. What additional parts might i need if i want to change an automatic to a manual.
