No cheap easy way to do it.

I like the looks and the size and the comfort of the Focus. But in my heart I'd love to have a fire-breathing engine behind me turning the rear wheels. That would make it complete. A mid engine RWD. That would take it to the upper level. world class. A hot turbo zetec in the rear. It can be done.

That's exactly what I wanted to know. I've looked up foci drifting on youtube and it shows real RWD foci drifting around corners. You can actually see the back wheels spinning. I know these aren't v8's cuz you can hear the roar in the v8. These just sound like a regular hooked up focus. I hope someone can explain how to change the FWD focus to a RWD.

I hereby volunteer my car for a RWD conversion. Now all I need is for 20 000 people to send me $1 each.....
Seriously, I would be all over this if finances allowed. Ford offered the Zetec as a Midget racing engine with a race header for RWD applications; Quad4rods has a bellhousing for the T5 as well as an ignition system and Weber carb manifolds; Kugel sells the V-8 conversion kit that I am sure could be adapted to run the Zetec north/south.

they did make a mid engine focus befor ewith the zetec and one with a SHO motor in it. The zetec one had a regular ole' zetec nothing fancy maybe and intake and exhaust can't remember what. But they said it knocked off a little over or 1 sec off its 0-60 time that being due to the weight transfer on launch. They fabed up the wheels where they would'nt turn pretty much just put the motor in the back.
