Would there be any decent gains in doing this swap? Does anyone know how much weight this would add?

well it will actually remove weight IIIRC. since the 2.5 V6 is all aluminum.

you WILL NOT have space for the twin turbo so just forget it.

im in the middle of this swap right now (im actually away at college, will be home in a week)
yes it's been done before. when i finish i will be the fourth person to have done it that i know of.

and the gains will be pretty good, seeing as how the SVTC V6 makes 200hp stock.

It's a heavy motor. My dad's contour goes through stock struts every year and a bit. It also doesn't help that it has only front discs/ rear drums

[QUOTE=I <3 my ZX3;2169176]well it will actually remove weight IIIRC. since the 2.5 V6 is all aluminum.
QUOTE]

The Duratec20 and Duratec23 are both all aluminum with iron cylinder liners, so the 2.5 V6 will weigh more.

The CSVT 2.5L makes about 200HP (depending on what year), so your engine is probably a bit over that (without the turbos). You can get that out of a Duratec 20 and, even easier, out of the Duratec 23 without the added weight. Unless you get the turbos in there, I don't think it's worth it. On the other hand, that CSVT 2.5L is a nice engine.

Let me know how you like it when you get it done. I almost bought a CSVT before I got my Focus.
