Evo 3 motor swap

ok so here's a crazy question. i got to thinkin, and i want to put a crate evolution 2.0L turbo motor into my car once the warranty is up.

no i KNOW my tranny wont bolt up to it so besides the motor and tranny what else what i need? how hard would it be to modify the mounts? is this all-together impossible?

ok its a great idea the only thing is that it will be expensive and time consuming and if you don't know what your doing you'll never get it done but im not sure why you want an evo 3 engine???? your not swapping the drive train as well are you? and here is what i can think of off the top of my head
engine
trans
fabricated mounts
ECU
harness
new autometer guages (im pretty sure nothing will work with the stock guages)
most likely a external fuel pump
new fuel lines for the pump
custom axels
new radiator hoses
and the list goes on.....
not to mention that u are going to get such a headache with wiring its not funny, also i've noticed that when you cross engine/car manufactures you get no support from anyone else (ford/mitsu) cause your the only one. my suggestion is if you really want to do something radical like that, go get an RS motor and trans and swap that in you'd be my hero and youd stay in the family

its not worth the money to dump it like that maybe try a cobra engine or something like that or an rs would be so much better man.but if you do it man post pics up after swap goes down on the build down alright.

Just turbo your existing engine...much easier, no computer/wiring/gauge/engine/transmission swaps.

the RS engine is the super svt model in europe....it was stock with a duratec 2.0l turbo engine rated i think at 215 hp and 200 tq for the previous body style....someone correct me if i am wrong......you probably be able to find one on the euro ebay or something similar........but i would just build and turbo your current engine....alot easier and less painstanking

The ST170 is the SVTF equivalent in Europe and indeed the world market. Technically the SVTF was based on the ST170. Anyways, the RS uses a built Zetec that was called a DuraTec RS, it had forged internals and left the factory making 212 BHP, although the engine is more than capable of far more power with a bigger turbo and some tuning.

Actually, it was a Zetec. They just call them Duratecs over there. Even the ST170 exact same engine as an SVT says its a duratec. I agree, be way cheaper to build your engine. Didn't Tom make like 250whp on a built top end 2.0 dura at only 5psi??
