Quick stupid question (exhaust)

I've read most of the exhaust threads and had a quick question for those who installed their own aftermarket catback exhausts. I know the premade kits are sometimes entirely bolt on and do not require welding. However, does the stock system come off with hand tools only or does it require cutting? pretty sure it does but wanted to check.

One piece OVER rear suspension components, so without major disassembly cutting is the answer.

in my case, using the magnaflow 15072 cat-back, i had to make a cut in 2 places. 1 close to the flex pipe as per magna flows directions. the other close to the muffler to get the oem exhaust out. the cat back was all bolt on. easy fit.
so... yes, small sawzall for cutting. other tools, ratchet and a socket for the brackets. bolt on.

Cut it off, you wouldn't be using it.

Yeah I figured. I wasn't planning on using it except for maybe putting it back to stock when and if I sold it. Didn't know if that was possible.

Wish it didn't have to be cut. Traded my last fofo with the fswerks stealth still on it because I had cut up the stocker.

Seriously. Just out of curiosity, did you trade it in to a dealership and if so, do they give you a smaller trade-in value because of the exhaust? If you don't mind me asking.

Yes, and no. Actually quite a few workers there were listening to the exhaust and loved it. I actually got them to give me more $ because I said i'd give em a car with no exhaust otherwise lol. If you removed the main catalytic converter then i'm sure they would give less, as they can't legally sell it that way.

Pretty easy to have a shop weld the stock exhaust back together.
Just don't chop it up in any weird/hard to get to places.
